Stephanie’s story….
“My name is Stephanie Geeze. I am a mother of three wonderful children who are 3.5 years, 2 years, and 4 months. I have been married for almost 8 years.
I grew up on a farm in Indiana. I was always very active with the farm life and sports. My mom always cooked our meals, we very rarely ate out.
I joined the Air Force when I was 17 years old. I went to Iraq shortly after joining. I remember eating alto while I was there. I believe that is how I dealt with what was going on. When I returned from Iraq I was extremely depressed and attempted to commit suicide. I ended up getting diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from many of the events that happened while I was there (mortar attacks weekly, deadly riots, etc.) I met my husband after returning from Iraq. He has been there through my mental and physical recovery. I would not be here if it were not for him. He has been extremely patient and motivating.
I have depression, anxiety, etc. This all causes me to stress eat. I feel like I have been battling it forever. I do not know if I will ever overcome it completely, but I do know that I will never give up. I truly enjoy working out. It is an amazing stress reliever. I want to be able to be healthy and not binge when I am stressed or turn to food or alcohol to make me feel better.
I want to be able to be a healthy mom for life. Not just for right now. I want my kids to have healthy eating habits as well.
I have changed my habits by eating six small meals throughout the day, drinking more water, consuming less sugar, and eating lean meat, healthy carbs and fats.
I started lifting heavy weights and doing High Intensity Training. Being apart of the No Excuse Mom page has held me accountable, taught me so much, and inspired me.”
