My fitness journey started out quite drastic this year. The rock bottom moment hit me when I was lying in a hospital bed alone back in July. I had potentially fatal pancreatitis, brought on by severe gall bladder attacks. My husband was out of the country for work, and I was left alone with our five sons; one of them being a newborn! It ended in an emergency surgery to remove my gall bladder.
I was obese and seriously unhealthy. I had completely given up on ever losing weight. I was so addicted to sugar it was like a drug to me.
Then the No Excuse Mom POT challenge popped up. I almost didn’t sign up…. Thankfully at the last minute I decided to give it a shot – I had nothing to lose and the accountability would be worth it!
I started by focusing on my diet for the first two weeks. I SLOWLY eased into daily hour walks and strength training 4 times a week at home. I would strap my baby to my chest and do loops at our local park.  I didn’t want a quick fix, I wanted to completely overhaul my lifestyle and find things that I loved and that I could incorporate into my daily life.  I then began counting macros. I was always hesitant to try this, but I knew it was the answer to my eating problems. I went from being terrified of carbs to eating a healthy higher carb diet and losing weight while maintaining my milk supply for my nursing baby! WIN!
I have been running a workout group for my family and friends for some years now, but had taken an extended break through my pregnancy. I logged back into my group and started a 30 day workout challenge and invited my family and friends to join me…AND THEY DID! A group of 10 ladies joined me and we worked out together, walked together, and I helped inspire them to start working on their health along with me. One of the most motivating things said to me multiple times during this challenge was “You have inspired me to work out and get healthy too!”
Setting new goals to propel myself forward; I plan on having a retro pinup photo-shoot in May 2019 to celebrate my 30th birthday, our 10 year wedding anniversary, and the one year birthday of our youngest son. I am also saving money to become a certified personal trainer and nutritionist, and live my passion!
NO MORE SUGAR CRAVINGS. I only drink my coffee black now!  Workouts and walks 5 times a week. Healthy diet. 25 lbs and 21.25 inches gone from around my body! Loving my new body and ROCKING it! I proved to myself just what I am capable of!  I’m on FIRE and WILL smash every single goal I have set for myself! I am a PROUD No Excuse Mom for life!
